Family Science Adventures was started by a teacher with over 20 years experience leading educational travel adventures for school groups from Kindergarten through College. Every itinerary uses that experience to bring age-appropriate adventure within reach of younger learners, while also catering to the adults who bring them along. We know what works for family groups and school groups with kids of all ages. Our science travel adventures are designed with your group in mind.
Our itineraries a designed to have a great mix of fun, adventure, and education (often all at the same time). If you'd like to change that up a little, we're happy to explore options.
We know the work teachers do in and out of the classroom. We value our teachers and offer rewards they deserve. As we design your itinerary together, we can make some decisions about budget. Teachers can travel free with as few as 6 paying participants. Once you've reached your minimum numbers for a free trip, you can earn a cash stipend (or invite a second free chaperone).
We focus on a few amazing destinations so we have a full understanding of every detail. We keep our client list small to give you and your trip the customized attention it deserves. On travel day, our goal is for you to show up with packed bags to enjoy the trip and spend time with your group. We'll take care of all the other details.
In addition to learning about local science and culture, your students will benefit from amazing real world experiences that cannot be matched in the classroom. Often, educational travel is just as educationally rewarding for teachers, offering real-world professional development. Teachers and students begin to learn alongside each other and experience educational adventures together.
Not only do your guides run the day-to-day logistics, they're also expert educators. They are local experts who know their country very well and are eager to teach you and your group as much as you'd like to know. For every destination we offer, we have on-the-ground teams nearby. While we anticipate trips going to plan, our teams are ready to assist with any unexpected events. You and your expert guides will have 24/7 support that's a phone call away.
Every group is different. Whether you want action packed itineraries or maybe a little more time to relax, we can design an itinerary that matches your needs and stays within your budget.
Once the itinerary is set, we'll create a trip website that is just for your group. You decide who to invite. The website will have all the details your participants need to learn about the trip and register. If you'd like any changes, we're happy to customize the site to your needs.
Every Family Science Adventures trip leader will receive a basic travel insurance policy that covers general emergencies during the trip. It is recommended that each participant purchase their own, more comprehensive policy. Family Science Adventures holds an outstanding liability policy. At your school's request, we can name your school as an "additional insured" under this policy. Teacher trip leaders are automatically covered under this liability policy as independent contractors.
Because we have great local connections in the countries we visit, our trip pricing can be low without sacrificing quality. But, international travel may still be financially difficult. Our registration system allows participants to set up a "gofundme-style" method to help raise funds to cover the costs of their trip. In the event a participant needs to cancel, all funds are returned to the donors.
Do you know another teacher who might want to lead their own adventure? Refer them to us and you can earn a cash bonus after they've led their first trip.
All ages are welcome!
We've planned experiences for the youngest elementary students and all the way up through college.
